Pursuing a Master’s Degree at UWM
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) offers an International Dual Degree program allowing students to obtain domestic and international master’s degrees within a 1+1 Dual Master’s Program. This program includes scholarships and tuition waivers. So far, seven graduate students from the Industrial Department have completed the 1+1 Dual Master’s Program.
One of the notable achievements in the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is credited to Chen Po-Hsun. He has set multiple records:
- Highest TOEFL iBT score of 92.
- Fulfilling his study abroad dream with minimal expenses of 600,000 NTD.
- Obtaining dual master’s degrees within a year, both domestically and internationally.
Foxconn, in collaboration with local suppliers, has established the first advanced display manufacturing park in North America, located in Mount Pleasant, Racine County. The park spans a massive 20 million square feet and specializes in producing LCDs. Thousands of employees are required, with an annual salary of $53,000 (1.6 million NTD) and opportunities for 150 local suppliers. Participating in the 1+1 Dual Master’s Program not only provides students with advantages but also positions them for potential employment at Foxconn, which is conveniently located just 48 kilometers away from Milwaukee, similar to the distance between Taipei and Taoyuan. By securing a position at Foxconn in advance, students can be at the forefront of their careers and seize the opportunity to thrive.
