Intense Master’s Program

In response to the declining birthrate domestically, the demand for mid-to-high-level technical talents in industries, and the reinforcement of the domestic manpower structure, we are expanding the recruitment of international students. We are also enhancing incentives for students to study in Taiwan and for subsequent employment, attracting outstanding international students worldwide to study in Taiwan and encouraging them to stay for employment after graduation, thereby introducing high-quality talents to Taiwan. New special programs should be oriented towards the employment needs of enterprises. After the school completes negotiations with cooperating companies and identifies talent cultivation objectives and needs, these should be submitted as annexes to the application for the new special program, providing a cooperative agreement between the school and cooperating companies.

The International Industry Talent Education Special Program (hereinafter referred to as the new special program) is a new type of program to meet the needs of our country’s population policy and domestic industry talent demand. In terms of promotion mode and implementation mechanism, it should have the following characteristics:

1. Industry-oriented, jointly selecting and cultivating students by industry and academia: The new special program is based on the talent demand for domestic industrial development. Schools and companies sign industry-academia cooperation projects to jointly select outstanding students from abroad. Through jointly designing customized courses by industry and academia, if necessary, courses can be taught jointly by school teachers and enterprise instructors, enabling enterprises to fully participate in student recruitment, curriculum teaching, internships, etc., to achieve the goal of jointly cultivating and employing talents.
2. Injecting resources jointly by the government and industries to enhance incentives for studying and employment in Taiwan: In order to attract outstanding students from various countries to study and work in Taiwan, the new special program will be supported by the National Development Fund (hereinafter referred to as the NDF) to provide industry-academia scholarships, including necessary administrative expenses for students coming to Taiwan for the first time, one-way airfare, and tuition and miscellaneous fees for up to 2 years. In addition, industries will provide a monthly living allowance of over NT$10,000 per student.
3. Combining post-graduation employment mechanisms to expedite the supplementation of talents needed by industries: The new special program is based on a 2-year cultivation period principle. Since students receive government and corporate subsidies during their study period, they have an obligation to stay for employment in Taiwan for a certain period after graduation. Participating companies have the right to preferentially employ students, accelerating the supplementation of mid-to-high-level talents needed by industries.
